Graduate Students

Lei Shu

Shu is a Ph.D. student in Construction Management. He earned an MSc in Architectural Engineering from Technical University of Denmark.  His research focuses on the building energy performance, energy-efficient building design, advanced HVAC systems, and indoor environments. His work in urban energy retrofit is supported by the NSF.

Chang Xu

Chang is a Ph.D. student in Urban and Regional Planning. She holds an MS in sustainable urban planning from George Washington University. Her research centers around spatial planning, computational modeling, and utilizing big data analysis.  Chang’s work on GIS and spatial planning is supported by the NSF.

Cornelia Asiedu-Kwakyewaa

Cornelia is a Ph.D. student in Construction Management. She received an MSc in Civil Engineering from Hohai University. Her research concentrates on Virtual Construction and Virtual Learning using social network analysis. Her work is supported by NSF.

Hongyu Hu

Hongyu is a Ph.D. student in Construction Management and received his MSc in Civil Engineering from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. His research focuses on geospatial decision-making models for sustainable infrastructure construction. He is passionate about creating innovative solutions for sustainable development and better quality of human life. His work is supported by NSF.

Eliza Searles

Searles is an MS student in Construction Management. She received her Bachelor degree in Sustainable Business and had Real Estate background.  She is particularly interested in the relationship between the built environment and well-being and has a great appreciation for the value of nature. She is excited to improve the environment both indoors and out through advanced construction management practices.

Reece Moran

Moran is an undergraduate student of Construction Management and REU assistant. His research focuses on the virtual design and construction informatics and construction safety. His work is supported by NSF.

Jiayue Chai

Chai is an undergraduate student of Computer Science and REU assistant. Her research focuses on game development, data analysis, and web design. Her work is supported by NSF.

Junchi Zhu

Zhu is an undergraduate student of Computer Science and REU assistant. His research focuses on webpage design, interactive games, and database. His work is supported by NSF.
